CoreSafe Casper is a mobile core tray photography system designed for operations that want fast, consistent, high-quality diamond drill core images without the inefficiency of moving heavy trays to a fixed camera station.

Instead of carrying core trays to the camera, CoreSafe Casper brings the camera to the core. This camera-to-core approach helps reduce manual handling, improve workflow efficiency, and deliver more consistent, repeatable image quality across the core shed.

Available in a range of standard sizes to suit core trays from 2 ft to over 1 m, CoreSafe Casper can be used across a range of work environments including work benches, roller tables, and other core photography setups. Its lightweight, carbon fibre, ergonomic frame is built to roll where the work happens while maintaining stable camera alignment and consistent light diffusion for reliable, high-quality image capture.

Made in Australia, CoreSafe Casper incorporates carbon fibre and components produced using CoreSafe’s in-house 3D print farm, enabling practical innovation, consistent quality, and continuous enhancement of the system.

CoreSafe Casper Naked

The CoreSafe Casper Naked package is a frame-only solution designed for customers who want the benefits of the Casper core photography frame while supplying their own camera, computer, and image capture workflow.

Casper Naked gives customers the flexibility to integrate the frame into their own photography setup while still supporting more consistent positioning, alignment, and repeatable image capture. By using the Casper frame as the foundation, operators can create a more structured and reliable core tray photography process while maintaining control over their chosen hardware and software.

CoreSafe Casper Pro

The CoreSafe Casper Pro Tech Package is a complete, ready-to-use core photography solution designed for customers who want reliable, repeatable, high-quality image capture with minimal setup time.

The package includes field-proven, results-driven technology supplied pre-configured for immediate use. A Sony A7R IV 61MP camera is paired with a Sony G Series 24mm fixed prime lens, selected to reduce image distortion and make image capture simple, consistent, and repeatable. The system also includes a Lenovo touchscreen laptop that can be used in standard laptop mode or folded into tablet format, giving operators flexibility in the field or core shed.

To simplify deployment, the Pro package is supplied with camera settings optimised and software preloaded for out-of-the-box operation. The laptop comes preloaded with simple Sony image capture software, as well as Imago; however, customers will require their own Imago login to utilise that platform.

This allows teams to get up and running quickly, supports more consistent image capture, and makes adoption easier for site teams.

Casper Lighting Kit Accessory

The Casper Lighting Kit Accessory is an optional add-on designed to further improve image quality and consistency when capturing drill core photography in variable or inconsistent lighting conditions.

The kit includes LED panel lights that help create a more controlled and repeatable lighting environment, particularly in core sheds where natural light can change throughout the day due to the movement of the sun, cloudy conditions, shadows, or changing weather.

The LED panel lights feature easily adjustable light colour, allowing operators to better match ambient lighting conditions for true-to-life tone and colour in captured images. Brightness can also be adjusted to provide even, glare-free lighting across the core, helping reduce reflections, shadows, and inconsistent exposure.

Consistent lighting is especially important for core tray photography, where repeatable image results support more accurate colour matching and downstream core image analysis. By reducing the impact of inconsistent ambient light, the Casper Lighting Kit helps operators capture clearer, more consistent images across different times of day and changing site conditions.

Workflow Accessories

Optional accessories are available separately to adapt CoreSafe Casper to different working environments.

Available accessories include the Casper Lighting Kit, adjustable feet to replace wheels, and guided wheels to help keep Casper tracking safely along a bench or roller table.

We can also design custom accessories for unique site setups thanks to our in-house 3D print farm.

Custom Builds

Every core shed is different, and CoreSafe Casper can be configured to suit a wide range of core photography workflows, bench setups, and roller table environments.

Beyond our standard sizes, we also offer custom-built Casper solutions for non-standard benches, racking, and core tray lengths. As these are a premium service and subject to practical design limits, all custom builds are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
