Description
SupaRule Model 600E
The Suparule 600E is a handheld Cable Height Meter instrument for measuring cable height distance, sag, and overhead clearance. It is a modern alternative to measuring poles. The Suparule 600E uses ultrasonic signals to identify the height of overhead cables up to 75 feet / 23 metres.
Ideal for operators in the utilities industry, such as telecommunications and electricity, the CHM600E (Cable Height Meter) measures the height of up to 6 wires. If the height of only a single wire is needed, we recommend the CHM190 model or either the CHM300 or CHM300E for measuring the height of 3 wires.
Features of the CHM600E
- Cable Range: 23m / 75ft
- 6 Wire Measuring
- Operating temperature: -10 C to 40 C
How the Suparule Works
The CHM600E emits a short burst of sound from the cone transmitter. The instrument's processor then calculates the time it takes for the sound to be reflected from the cable back to the Suparule Cable Height Meter. The result is then shown on the user display in either imperial (feet and inches) or metric (meters) format.
A sensor is mounted on the front of the instrument to measure the actual air temperature and compensate for the speed of sound which varies in different temperatures.
Applications for cable height measuring include:
- Distribution lines
- Telephone lines
- Cable television
- Transmission lines
- Street lighting
- SAG
- Construction site clearances
