The StrikeAlert HD LD3000 is a compact, portable lightning detector designed to provide early awareness of lightning activity occurring up to approximately 64 km away.

Ideal for professionals working in exposed outdoor environments, the LD3000 continuously monitors lightning activity in all directions and provides clear visual, audible and vibration alerts as detected strikes move closer.

A graphical 1-hour Storm Trend display records recent lightning activity in five-minute intervals, helping users monitor changing storm conditions and determine whether activity appears to be approaching, moving away or remaining relatively stationary.

This allows users to quickly monitor changes in nearby lightning activity without relying solely on visual observation of approaching storms.

Storm Trend Monitoring

The LD3000 stores approximately one hour of recent lightning activity and displays it graphically in five-minute intervals.

This allows users to see whether lightning activity appears to be:

• Increasing

• Decreasing

• Approaching

• Moving away

• Remaining relatively stationary

This information can provide valuable additional situational awareness when managing outdoor field operations.

Electrical Interference Detection

Motors, engines, high-powered electronics and other electromagnetic sources can sometimes interfere with portable lightning detectors.

The StrikeAlert HD includes interference detection and will indicate when excessive electrical interference is present, allowing the user to move away from the interference source before continuing monitoring.

For best performance, operate the detector away from strong electromagnetic sources wherever practical.
